THE FINNISH mobile phone giant Nokia has unveiled its latest Symbian Anna smartphone, Nokia 500. This is the first Symbian device to have a 1 GHz CPU. Earlier this year Nokia unveiled this latest version of the OS, Symbian Anna.

The smartphone Nokia 500 comes with dimension of 111.3 x 53.8 x 14.1 mm, weight with battery 93 gm and volume 73 cc. It has a 3.2-inch capacitive touch screen at 640×360 pixel resolution, five-megapixel rear-facing camera, VGA front-facing camera. It has video support for on demand WebTV widgets to watch local and global internet streaming videos, Flash video, YouTube browsing and streaming.

The other features of this handset includes 2GB onboard storage and support for up to 32 GB microSD, Nokia Maps with free navigation features, 1110 mAh Li-Ion battery with up to 7 or 5 hours of talk time (2G and 3G, respectively). It's unified home screen gives access to social networking sites Facebook and Twitter through Social client.

The Nokia 500 comes with exchangeable back covers in different colours and it changes its wallpaper automatically to match the colour of the back cover. It also has music features to browse the albums in the music collection. It supports the audio format such as MP3, SpMidi, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA.

Push email and expanded portal support available through Nokia Messaging for email and instant messaging. It will also have unified MMS/SMS editor. In the Nokia 500, users will get many apps as well as users can download the latest apps and games, as well as browse ringtones, themes and wallpapers.
