Nokia announces Nokia 700, greenest phone to date
In an event in Hong Kong, the Finnish mobile phone giant Nokia unveiled Nokia 600; the Nokia 700, its smallest ever smartphone; and Nokia 701, the world's brightest mobile phone display with the latest OS Symbian Belle.
MOBILE PHONE giant Nokia has launched its smallest ever smartphone, the Nokia 700 at an event in Hong Kong on Wednesday, August 24. Beside Nokia 700, the Finnish company also unveiled Nokia 600, Nokia 701 smartphones, and the latest operating system Symbian Belle.
According to the company, Nokia 700 measuring 110 x 50.7 x 9.7mm and weighing only 96gm, runs on the Symbian Belle operating system, and is the most compact touch monoblock smartphone in the market right now. The company also said that the Nokia 700 is their greenest phone to date.
The Nokia 700 features a five-megapixel full focus camera with an LED flash for capturing pictures and video, a 3.2 inch screen with Clearblack AMOLED display, quad-band GSM and penta-band 3G support with HSPA, Bluetooth 3.0, NFC capabilities, Wi-Fi b/g, GPS with A-GPS, FM radio. The battery life is rated at up to 7.3 hours talk-time or up to 465 hours on standby.
It comes with 2GB of user memory plus a MicroSD card slot for up to 32GB of extra storage. Nokia 700 will be available in five colours including Cool Grey, Silver/White, Coral Red, Peacock Blue and Purple. The company said that the handset expected to become available in the third quarter of 2011. According to the company, the Nokia 700 is expected to be available at around EUR 270.
