North Bihar reeling under monsoon deluge
North Bihar is badly hit by heavy rains as most of the rivers are flowing above the danger level. Flood situation has aggravated in Muzaffarpur, Saharsa and Supaul and other districts. More than 550 houses and vast standing crops have been destroyed
NORTH BIHAR districts are reeling under the monsoon deluge as the flood situation worsened on Firday (July 25) in Muzaffarpur, Saharsa and Supaul. Most of the rivers in the state are flowing above the danger levels causing waters to flow into villages and towns. As many as two lakh people have been affected by the rains in five districts.


The state disaster management sources revealed that the flood has till now devastated more than 550 houses, the value of which has been estimated at Rs 36.50 lakh. Standing crops and public properties have faced severe losses by this deluge. Meanwhile, the state disaster management officials have been surveying the flood-hit areas.


More than 200 boats are being ferried to flood-hit places to evacuate trapped people and cattle. According to the Central Water Commission, water level of Kamala Balan has risen above the danger mark by 61cm at Jhanjharpur.


Punpun river has been flowing 115cm above the danger level at Sripalpur; Burhi Gandak is flowing 10cm, 51cm and eight centimetres above the danger mark at Lalbaghiya Ghat in Motihari, Rosera and Khagaria, respectively.


Moreover, Kosi is flowing 49cm and 40cm above the danger levels at Basua and Kursela and Mahananda is flowing 39cm and 18cm above the danger level at Tengraghat and Jhawa, respectively.

i am a bihari studying at chandigarh . the facts presented here are pretty good but i want to ask the writer shouldnt we first care for those people who are strnded and marooned an this manmade water desert insted of blaming the center and the state for the present crisis.should not we first care for those stranded people and after all tis water has subsided we ask the government why all happened?
