North Eastern tribals' woes fall on deaf ears
For ages these innocent hapless people have been robbed cheated and deprived of homes and basic amenities. Today, they have taken up guns out of frustration. Instead of solving their grievances army has been called to create fear among them.

SINCE NINE months I am trekking the terrain in the Himalayas painstakingly. I have talked with the tribals, have learnt their woes and placed a suggestion to the government for uplifting them from poverty.

These innocent people of the hills have been cheated mercilessly by all the political party supporters and the leaders have kept their eyes closed. It is when they are raising their voice and holding guns, proposals are mooted to pacify them. Whether it is Tarun Gogoi or Manipur CM or any other all knew very well that nothing will be done for them. Strangely, when I visited Delhi and asked for an appointment with the Finance Minister I was promptly refused.

I have approached many NGOs for help but no one came forward. Therefore, I have decided to move alone and that too fast, else more grenades throwing incidences will happen. Once done they will lay down their arms. I have talked with some of the outfits supporters and got this assurance.

All these people need is some assistance from the government and some decisions that would put them out of their misery.
