AHEAD OF Diwali festivities, in a meeting that was conducted with top officials of the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) on Friday, literally everyone seemed to be fired up with problem resolution. Right from citizens to the officials at the MCG, there did not seem to be an end to the problems the city was facing with the major ones being drainage and littering.

An irate group of volunteers from village Fazilpur in Jharsa produced themselves in front of the Mayor Vimal Yadav and complained about the basic infrastructural problems their village had been facing since the last six months and directly credited it to faulty engineering - thereby putting the onus on the local administration.
An official from the MCG, however, proposed that a sewage check committee be created involving twenty five people. This committee, headed by the village heads, will be responsible for keeping a check on the drainage related problems in their village - to which the Mayor gave his nod instantly and asked for work to be commenced at the earliest.
Trying to pep up the spirits of the people present during the meeting, Yadav said, “The problems are not 100 per cent solvable. However, completion of even 40 per cent of the problems can be considered as an achievement”.
