Novak Djokovic wins Wimbledon 2011, Bhupathi and Vesnina miss mixed doubles
Rafael Nadal, who was unbeaten in 20 matches at the All England Club, lost against Novak Djokovic by 6-4, 6-1, 1-6, 6-3 in men's singles final on Sunday at the Centre Court.
THE NEW world No. 1 tennis player Novak Djokovic won his first Wimbledon title in a thrilling four-set victory over Rafael Nadal at the Centre Court in the men's singles final on Sunday. On Saturday, Czech Republic's Petra Kvitova defeated fifth seed Maria Sharapova of Russia by 6-3, 6-4 in the women's singles final at Wimbledon.

The 24-year-old Serbian player Novak Djokovic took 148 minutes to mark his 48th win in 49 matches this season. He won against defending champion Rafael Nadal by 6-4, 6-1, 1-6, 6-3, and this victory was Djokovic's fifth straight win against the Spaniard this season. Earlier this year, Novak Djokovic won Australian Open and reached semi-final of the Roland Garros, where he lost his only game this season against Roger Federer.

In the final of the Wimbledon men's singles, Djokovic served seven aces, whereas Rafa hit five aces. The Serbian won 72 per cent of his first serve points and 54 per cent of his second serve points, whereas the Spaniard won on 67 per cent his first serve, and 44 per cent on his second serve.

In the Wimbledon mixed doubles final, the Indo-Russian pair of Mahesh Bhupathi and Elena Vesnina lost to the Austrian-Czech pair of Jurgen Melzer and Iveta Benesova by 6-3, 6-2 in 51 minutes. The 4th seeded Bhupathi and Vesnina made many mistakes against their opponents.
