HERE IS a good breakthrough achieved by the scientists from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology who have developed a flexible battery that can be bent and twisted - giving the possibility that phones of the future could be flexible and hold more capacity. This battery is said to retain energy level when folded, and/or mildly mutilated, promising bright future for the world of electronics.
These rechargeable lithium-ion batteries are actually printed on a thin film and can therefore be used on different kind of devices like ebook readers, tablets and phones. One of the main achievements in this discovery is the batteries can be bent over and over again without reducing the voltage output, reported IANS.
All this is now going to change for the better in the days to come through this discovery which would enable people to keep their mobile handset in half or keep it rolled up in their pockets based on this new invented battery that can be folded. Besides phones, this opens up the possibility that other devices such as tablets or e-book readers could be folded in half or rolled up for easy storage in our pockets.
Hoping the above discovery made through initial trials would soon become a reality for not only advanced countries to benefit but also for emerging economies like India to benefit in a big way.
