Indian politicians have realised that cricket can be used as an effective tool to gain popularity and to grab eyeballs. Therefore they throng the stadiums in droves and clap at every move of the players.

THE VIP lounges of cricket stadiums are full of some of the most eminent personalities ranging from not only those from the entertainment field but politicians too join the crowd and cheer for the Indian team.

But this isn’t all about real joy of celebrating and supporting their country as cheering cricket is not the sole motive of politicians. They use this opportunity to grab publicity, to reach out to the masses, and strike an emotional chord with the common people.

This is not the only reason though, why we see large number of politicians cheering the Indian team in the stadiums. The netas also want themselves to be seen on the numerous television channels as well as they want themselves to be identified with the cricketers, who represent the aspirations of the common man.

Cricket has always been a platform for these polticians to strike an emotional chord with people. In the stadiums, it is not just the movement of the ball that gets noticed but the presence of these politicians too.

And the Netas have realised that there could be no platform better than cricket to get noticed.

With cricket matches becoming huge events, the politicians have decided to join the bandwagon and take advantage of the popularity of the game. They know that by supporting cricketers, they are getting close to the millions of cricket fans, who eat, drink and sleep cricket.
