Now two Deputy Commissioners in each of the 27 districts of Assam
Assam's 27 districts will be put under two deputy commissioners, with the Conventional Deputy Commissioner focusing on the law and order situation along with the issues that affect the social order of the district, whereas the Deputy Development Commissioner will be dealing with all the aspects of development of the district.

The New Year's first on Thrusday by Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi was this authentic decision of the two DCs in every district. As the state had witnessed a very pathetic violent bloodbath while saying goodbye to 2014, the party in power woke-up with this New Year's resolution.

Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said on Thursday to the media that "Conventional Deputy Commissioner will concentrate solely on law and order scenario of the district and help in maintaining peace and harmony among the citizens"

The Assam Government has been on the back foot since members of the outlawed National Democratic Front of Bodoland (S) attacked the Adivasi villages along the state's border with Bhutan and Arunachal Pradesh last month.

The Government had claimed to have kept the NDFB(S) in check after they were primarily accused of killing migrant Muslims in 2012. The ethnic cleansing drive that year claimed 109 lives. The same pattern massacre of 81 lives last month before Christmas shook the entire state.

This decision of Tarun Gogoi Chief Minister of Assam on dividing the districts between two DCs for better administration coincided with Guwahati, which is the district headquarter cum capital city of Assam along with that it is the police commissionerate headed by the additional director general of police, Jyotirmoy Chakravarty.

The question which is arising in the media sphere regarding the decision taken by Chief Minister of Assam is, how feasible will this new administration scenario be when comes to real work.
