Now you can change your Metro train at DMRC's Mandi House station also
Mandi House Metro station with interchange facility - part of the ambitious Phase-3 of the Delhi Metro - is open for commuters after Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu flagged off the first Metro train between Mandi House and Central Secretariat, a 3 km stretch today morning.
According to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) officials, the Central Secretariat-Mandi House section has received the mandatory safety clearance from the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS). The Janpath Metro station has also reportedly got the mandatory safety clearance and would be opened for the public shortly.

The 3 km long stretch is entirely underground corridor and consists of two stations- Janpath and Mandi House. Mandi House will provide interchange facility with the currently operational Blue Line from Dwarka Sector 21 to Noida City Centre. The Mandi House station is a part of the extension till Kashmere Gate and will be an interchange station catering to the Blue Line and the Badarpur line.

This new stretch was planned with an aim to provide some ease to commuters traveling between South and East Delhi. One of the biggest interchange metro station of DMRC i.e. Rajiv Chowk is also expected to be hugely benefited of this new corridor as now commuters, who have to travel via Blue Line, can change their train at Mandi House as well.

After the inauguration of the phase 3, the road traffic is also expecting some relief especially between Mandi House and India Gate.
