NUCLEAR POWER plants have proved to be reliable and consistent.  However, Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant which was deeply affected during Japan’s tsunami and earthquake has raised questions about the viability of Nuclear Power Plants world over.
Based on studying some different reports on this subject, it is found out that currently an expert team has arrived in Japan to make a complete study on the radiation levels leakage and the aftermath of Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant collapse. 

 Safety is very important for any project.  In advanced countries, whenever an employee is inducted into workforce, the first and foremost induction training includes explaining everything to the employee about safety aspects when it comes to any emergency situation.   Today, there are many nuclear power plants located in different parts of the world, which are generating huge electricity and transmitting them reliably on a consistent basis.  Though radiation levels are very high in and around Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant, so far Press has not reported a single loss of life due to radiation which can be taken as a good sign in favour of setting up modern nuclear power plants with advanced safety measures included.

It seems Fukushima Power Plant was set up long time back with limited safety measures and efforts were not taken to upgrade these safety measures properly.  People, who have been working in coal and steel sectors which were not modernized about a decade or two decades back, were subjected to work in conditions where the breathing atmospheric air would have contained many substances harmful for human health.  Thanks to modernization, these issues have been given due importance in course of time. 

For a growing country like India, where life would come to a standstill without round the clock uninterrupted electricity, the solution lies in setting up modern nuclear power plants with advanced safety measures, which could prove to be a big boon for the masses. All the negatives associated with setting up of nuclear power plants can be done away with by giving extra thrust on more and more advanced safety related issues. Generating electricity through nuclear power plants should be favored, which has by and large proved to be a success in spite of some lapses here and there.
