MARATHON RUNNERS Peter Kamais and Mara Yamauchi won the New York half marathon on Sunday morning respectively in men's and women's race. The New York half marathon started at 7:35 am, from Central Park and finished in Lower Manhattan. Both Peter Kamais and Mara Yamauchi were the debutant in the New York half marathon.
Peter Kamais of Kenya finished the race in a new record time 59:53. Peter Kamais grabbed the lead at the halfway point. His country man Moses Kignen-Kipkosgei finished in second place.
In the women's race Mara Yamauchi of Great Britain finished in also a new course record time 1:09:17. Britain's Yamauchi passed Deena Kastor in the late stage while most of the American Kastor took led. Kastor finished second in 1:09:43.
