Observation of Safer Internet Day in New Delhi by CMAI
Safer Internet Day (SID) is organised globally to promote safer and more responsible use of online technology and mobile phones, especially amongst children and young people across the world. Over the years, Safer Internet Day (SID) has become a landmark event in the online safety calendar.

Started as an initiative of the EU Safe Borders project in 2004, Safer Internet Day has grown beyond its traditional geographic zone and is now celebrated in more than a 100 countries worldwide, and across six of the world's seven continents.

Each year, it aims to highlight the emerging online issues and chooses a topic reflecting current concerns.

Communications, Multi-media And Infrastructure (CMAI) Association, a professional registered association for promotion of Indian IT and Telecom Sector with the support of industry and its several partners sought to raise awareness among all stakeholder groups- such as children and young people, parents, carers and educators and industry of their respective rights and responsibilities in relation to the online world, to make the internet a safer and better place.

They are planning to observe the Safer Internet Day in India at New Delhi with strong support of national and International experts, government representatives, civil society, celebrity participation and Industry partners.

Internet today is indispensable and has propelled the overall growth of the nations from their economic standpoint to the complete social enhancement in terms of governance, education, health and entertainment. It has come to include the total communication services and has also become mobile, thereby ushering in a revolution in our daily lifestyle and existence.
