Odisha policemen threaten strike if Congress workers are not arrested
The Odisha Police have arrested 35 people, including those who hit a police woman during a clash outside the Odisha Assembly between the cops and congress workers last Thursday.

THE BHUBANESWAR Police Commissioner Sunil Roy told newspersons that more arrests in connection to the incident will take place. “We have arrested 35 people so far. More arrests are likely," said Roy.

The Odisha police association on Friday demanded arrest of those who attacked the police men and a judicial probe into the incident. The merciless beating up of a police woman Pramila Padhi by Congress workers was caught on camera as a mob chased her and pushed her to the ground before brutally thrashing her.

The protesters also charged her and attacked other police personnel who had to be rescued. More than 60 police personals were injured as thousands of congress workers had turned violent. The Odisha police association set a two day deadline from Friday for action against the congress agitators who viciously attacked the police woman.

They have threatened to stop going on security duties for Congress VIPs if the men responsible are not arrested. They were more than 40,000 congress workers and supporters who had tried to storm the Odisha Assembly on Thursday demand the resignation of Chief Minister Navin Patnaik for his alleged involvement in the coal allocation scam that has rocked parliament as well.
