Offering good customer service is key to satisfaction
Experts are now confirming that customer services should not only be associated with sales-purchase of businesses but this important value should also be inculcated in almost every sphere of human activity.
OFTEN CUSTOMER service is associated with the sale of a product or goods or services. The general belief that goes with better customer service is good sales and after sales service. Lots of opinions have been generated on this very important issue of customer service mainly targeting at boosting sales and turnover of an organisation.

Experts are now confirming that customer services should not only be associated with sales-purchase of businesses but this important value should also be inculcated in almost every sphere of human activity. Across many societies, human beings concentrate on doing activities which they consider as responsible or expected out of them – these activities are guided by some age old beliefs and principles.


Researchers have found out that if these very activities are performed with the sole guiding principle of offering ‘good customer service’, satisfaction level quotient will get a tremendous solid boost amongst the various societies. In other words, benefits that would accrue to the society will be huge and gigantic in so many ways. The fact also remains that the movement of the society to higher platforms have been made possible mainly through offering “effective customer services”. Therefore, its value can be taken as simply priceless.


Ministry of Education was requested to consider the proposal of introducing the concept of “good service skills” knowledge in all the educational centres starting from primary education and continuing the same through middle-higher education including post graduation. Once this concept is properly engraved in the minds of educated people, there will be least amount of distortions expected for smooth functioning of the society. There will be tremendous change for the betterment in the attitudes of the general populace especially when it comes to the following:


- Neglect of parents by children who indulge in pursuing their own goals; once the value of good customer satisfaction is properly understood, many children will ensure that their parents are well taken care of till their last breath.


-In many families due to over stress or strain or for some other reason, bullying goes on unchecked by some member(s). Such an act results in compromising the other family member to take hasty or rash decision on very important issues governing them leaving them no scope to do proper thinking or planning or have adequate freedom to express their choice. Once the value of good customer satisfaction is properly nurtured, there is bound to be a qualitative change in the attitude of leading family members over other members in speech, action and deed.


-In some educational institutions ragging is still persistent causing enormous mental stress, strain and pressure on the victims.  Once the value of good customer satisfaction is realised well, the whole situation will become reverse which would mean each student will be more than willing to help the other student in as many ways as possible.


-Law Enforcement Agencies at times may have to use some methods in dealing with troubled situations which could be interpreted as unfriendly.  Once the message of the goodness of customer satisfaction is properly spread amongst these agencies, complicated issues can be dealt with finesse resulting in drawing widespread support and recognition for streamlining these very issues.


-Employers will find the situation a cake walk when the employees recruited are all well nurtured with the values of good customer satisfaction. This situation will result in continuity of an organisation for a sustained growth with no strikes or lock outs anticipated.


-There are countries where transport services run in clock wise precision – in other words once can set his time basing the arrival and departure of transport services. This has been made possible because of high motivational levels of the employees aided by a strong urge to give excellent customer services.


Besides the above, good customer service skills and values will enable:


- Friends to strengthen their bonds more effectively.


-Relatives can look forwards to more warmth and appreciation in approach amongst their members.


-Various activities (social and economic included) starting from the early morning till the end of the day can be done in a more enjoyable way.


Considering the above, it is requested that concerned officials will do everything to ensure that the all educational institutions get a directive to including the subject matter of ‘good customer satisfaction’ as a prime subject which should be taught right from the primary school levels and continued to the highest level.
