In the Millennium City, a number of initiatives have been undertaken to promote child rights and also to raise awareness among children regarding their own rights. NGO Shakti Vahini, which runs Childline (1098), has observed the week to raise awareness for the rights of children, and have got immense positive response. From November 8, the campaign named ‘Childline Se Dosti’ has helped girls from Arushi home (shelter home) to tie friendship bands on police personnel.
     
Apart from the campaign, they have also been promoting awareness about child abuse and children's rights through talk shows, and painting competitions so that children who are not that fortunate are also made aware of their rights. Apart from the week long initiative, the Aero Club of India in Gurgaon is organising sports activities Rajiv Gandhi National Centre for Aerosports (RGNCA) in Narnaul on November 14.

This event will start at 10:30 am and continue for 4 hours. Children who are interested can easily join and win prizes. From a long list of sports there are a few that are really interesting and they are powered flying, aeromodelling display, parasailing and hot air ballooning. This is expected to attract a lot of attention among children from school and colleges.
