But, Perhaps Advani’s greed of becoming Prime Minister didn’t allow him to retire gracefully. Rather he became the main competitor of his prodigy, Narendra Modi. His resignation drama during Narendra Modi’s selection as election campaign chief, then in direct opposition to Narendra Modi’s anointment as Prime Ministerial candidate and now the antics on ticket distribution, shows him on a very poor light.
One may argue that Advani is right. Then my question is why he makes u–turn? If his objections are valid, he needs to stand firm on those points irrespective of party’s action. If you have compromised, then you are no more straight forward leader, who once declared that he wouldn’t contest election till he is cleared from Hawla allegation.
That’s why one can state that greed has consumed him. This time he is aggrieved on ticket distribution for him. He doesn’t want to contest election from Gandhinagar suspecting sabotage. He is interested to contest from Bhopal, as it is safe. The point is why Advani shouldn’t say to his party 'look, I am 86 year old and by the end of my term I would be 91. Is there any point being PM of a country where more than 2/3rd population is below 35 years.'
This proves Advani is no more the Advani who build BJP brick by brick. His personal ambition and greed made him a villain for the party, who became a simply cry-baby for every silly things that damage party’s image.
It’s for sure; Advani will again fall in party line. May be RSS intervention would be required. But such controversies give rise to the rumour, that BJP senior leadership heartily don’t want BJP to get more than 170 seats alone. This attempt is to stop Modi from being the Prime Minister. Their strategy is that with strength of 170 seats BJP would need more coalition parties, which will object Modi as Prime Minister. This may result in Advani’s ambition of being prime minister followed by Sushma Swaraj and co.
I don’t think it should be true. But if it’s true, then it’s very dangerous for BJP’s poll prospect. Narendra Modi can fight against all outsiders. But none has ever won, when there is sabotage from within. If it’s true then there must be strong action against people, who for personal greed and vendetta wants to sabotage the party.
Lal Krishna Advani in fact
became a liability for BJP. Once he was the star but now a villain.
For this fall down Advani himself is responsible. He must be forced
to retire first, else BJP need to forget to come back to power.
