Can a single onion ring - a crispy, golden brown snack have more fans that Prime Minister Stephen Harper? Well, most popular social networking site, Facebook has a page which was started on Tuesday has quickly overtaken PM Harper in online popularity. The page pitted an onion ring against the PM in a political showdown, asking a question, Can this Onion Ring get more fans than Stephen Harper?
However, it is not the right way to judge who is more popular by social networkings sites but its quite surprising how the Onion ring got so many fans in just a few days.
Of course, its rising-star status on social networking websites is not a valid measuring stick for the prime minister's political popularity. Also a counter group aimed at the Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff, has a question,"Can this inanimate carbon rod get more fans than Michael Ignatieff?" also has more than 1500 fans, while Ignatieff's fan count is nearly 30,000.
