Online roll number to value based questions: Number of changes in CBSE board exams
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examination for the class X and XII starts on March 1. A few changes have been made to the format of the examination. The Board has started an online facility for students, whereby the schools can generate 'online roll number wise' list of candidates appearing in 2013 Class X and XII examinations. The students can generate an online admit card this year as well.

Another major change to the pattern of the examination is that the board has introduced 'value based questions' in all the major subjects for classes X and XII for upto 3-5 marks. A statement issued by the Central Board of Secondary Education said, “The Board has decided to follow an interdisciplinary approach in value education where values are intermingled with the content of all the major subjects in classes IX and XII. The questions will be based on content and analyzed on the basis of the values it reflects.”

The Board has also decided to reduce the number of chances that it would give its students to clear compartments. For class X it is reduced from five to one and for class XII it has been reduced to three from five. However, this would be applicable from the year 2013-2014.

There has been around 6.7 percent increase in the number of children giving CBSE board class X examination this year over last year's number. A total of 15 percent increase has been recorded this year in the number of students sitting for Class XII CBSE exams compared to last year.
