Open House programme in Muscat for NRIs
The Open House programme was held on March 16, and is held on third Friday of every month in Oman. The NRIs who have been facing trouble can contact help line No. 968 246959981 or 968 96530062 and get suggestions.

THE INDIAN Embassy organized an `Open House’ programme in Muscat, the capital of Sultanate of Oman on March 16 for the benefit of Non-Resident Indians working in that country. M B Reddy, Vice President, Migrants' Rights Council, said that by using the programme, the building workers, domestic workers (women), employees and workers in various firms in Sultanate of Oman can represent to the Indian Embassy officials about their problems in that country. They can contact the officials directly or through phone, the embassy said in its press release.

The facility has been in existence for some years. However, due to lack of adequate publicity, the NRIs of various categories were not making use of the facility.

A voluntary organization, Migrants’ Rights Council (MRC) took up a programmes to bring awareness among NRIs working in Oman with regard to such facilities.

Bhim Reddy urged the NRIs to make use of the facility. Bhim Reddy, who is also member of Migrant Forum in Asia (MFA) seeks media help to bring awareness among NRIs.
