Operation Garuda: A plot hatched by the ruling Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh?
By now, it must have become crystal clear to Andhraites that 'Operation Garuda' (OG), was a despicable conspiracy hatched by the evil-minded genius and deftly enacted by cine actor Sivaji at the former's instance.

The developments after the unsuspecting attack on the life of the YSR Congress Party president and the Opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy at the Visakhapatnam airport lounge was the climax to the drama. Even the officialdom is dumbfound on the announcements being made by Chandrababu Naidu and his ministers that Operation Garuda was being executed (as if it is by the Centre) with the sole intention of destabilizing the state government (as predicted by Sivaji) following his party severing ties with the BJP-led NDA some time back.

Some senior IAS and IPS officers are questioning the rationale behind the government not ordering an enquiry into Operation Garuda when it was so ill intended as observed by Chandrababu Naidu.  The CM not doing so indicated that it was his own handiwork, they reasoned out. "Understandably,  Operation Garuda was created some ruling party members with a view to diverting people's attention from the lapses of the government since four and half years," a political observer said.

"The OG drama was enacted by henchman Sivaji before the media in Vijayawada about seven months ago for wider publicity to OG theme, this is nothing but a plot hatched by the ruling Telugu Desam Party members," he added.

BJP AP president Kanna Lakshminarayana alleged that AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu was the writer and director of Operation Garuda. He said that Naidu was trying to divert the attention of the public from his failures by leveling baseless allegations against opposition parties. Nagari legislator and YSRC spokesperson RK Roja also alleged that 'Operation Garuda' is being held at the behest of Nara Chandrababu Naidu.

Cine actor Sivaji's OG includes IT and CBI raids to destabilize Chandrababu's government, some attempt on the life of an important party leader and later some agitations will be organized in the state to unseat Chandrababu from power. Sivaji inaugurated Babu's OG script in Vijayawada on March 22. Later, it became a routine for the Chief Minister and his council of ministers to give statements in the media that the developments were parts of the OG. Sivaji too chanted the same mantra saying that he forewarned about such and such developments. Similar style was followed when IT raids were done on the companies run by the TDP MLC Beeda Mastan Rao and MLA Pothula Ramarao, who recently joined the TDP defecting from YSR Congress Party. The political drama was deftly played when IT raids were done on the Rithvik group of companies belonging to TDP MP CM Ramesh.

Political sport reaches zenith

The sadistic strategy reached the zenith when a deliberate attempt to assassinate the Opposition leader YS Jaganmohanreddy was made in the noon-time recently to injure him on his neck with a knife at the Visakhapatnam airport lounge by one Srinivasarao, who works in the airport restaurant run by a TDP leader. But Jagan got out of the danger in a moment with a considerable injury to his shoulder from the knife attack made by the youth in a manner that resembled a professional killer. After the attack, Chandrababu sent his ministers to give media statements that the attempt on the life of the opposition leader was made as part of OG, so as to destabilize the TDP government warranting President's rule in the state. After the turn of ministers was over, he told the same thing in the collectors' meeting also. Later, Chandrababu told media persons in the night that the attempt on the life of the opposition leader Jagan was made as part of OG and the rest of the things occurred as forewarned by Sivaji. His statement left the officialdom in dismay.

Why hesitation for enquiry…

The Chief Minister and his council of ministers have been stating many a times that Operation Garuda was revealed by cine actor Sivaji. Even the IPS officials were questioning why the government was mum without ordering an enquiry into such a conspiracy of high magnitude as to destabilize the government itself.

CM Chandrababu once again reeled out before the media that Sivaji disclosed that the reece was done by some anti social elements in Guntur and Hyderabad to attack opposition leader in an unharmful way to his life and miscreants belonging to Odisha and Bihar will cause disturbances to destabilize the government. A senior IPS officer reportedly asked the CM as to why enquiry was not ordered into such a vital issue which came to light as long back as seven months.

The IAS and IPS officials are of the firm view that enquiry was not being ordered by the CM because the findings may misfire on him and the truth could come out.
