With elections round the corner, the political temperature has heated up. Recently, Haryana MP Deepender Singh Hooda accused the opposition parties of stalling development in the state during an election tour
THE OPPOSITION parties in Haryana are creating hurdles in the path of development of the state. They are opposing the government's welfare schemes for the sake of opposition without caring for the interests of the masses. Their opposition to the pension scheme for the elders (Vridha Samman Pension Yojana ) is a pointer to their double standards. The charge was levelled by the Member of Parliament (MP) and Congress candidate from Rohtak Parliamentary constituency Deepender Singh Hooda while addressing public meetings in several villages of the constituency on Monday (April 6).
Hooda launched a tirade against the opposition parties of the state charging them with 'double-speak' on various issues. He lambasted the opposition leaders alleging that they were opposing such 'crucial' projects like Hansi-Butana canal project. He said that the opposition to such developmental projects reflected the selfishness of these parties, which were not even interested in boosting infrastructural facilities in the state.
He asked the opposition parties not to trample upon the self respect of the masses, especially the farmers and the elders. He focussed on the 'dynamic and pro-active' leadership of Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda asserting that Haryana has been scaling new heights in various fields under the present regime. He sought the blessings of the elders and appealed to the voters to elect him to the Parliament again with a record margin. The Congress candidate Deepender Singh Hooda addressed meetings in over half a dozen villages, including Maina, Pehrawar and Karor. Several local Congress leaders accompanied him during the election tour.
