Like there is no tomorrow, Oprah Winfrey is tucking on Indian delicacies and purchasing all the..
SHE CAME, she saw and she conquered the Bollywood world of glitz and glamour but Oprah doesn’t want to visit India ever again. When one reads this, all the tourism negative advertisements (Indians harassing some foreigner) come to mind. The talk queen said this was her last visit to the country, thanks to the fiasco that happened in Vrindavan, when her bodyguards were arrested. However, whether such a strong stance was required by the host is still understandable? Isn’t it unfair to all the friends that she made in India and the royal treatment she is getting everywhere, that she should be upset over such a trivial matter?
did not say anything about the nasty experience in Vrindavan but praised India by saying, “India is so diverse. It’s gorgeous. It’s like paradise. It has been an overwhelming experience to come here,” as reported in hindustantimes.com, and while saying that it will be her visit to India, she seemed confused.
The incident that left a bad taste in the hostess mouth also reflected the Indian media in a negative light. Apparently, the paparazzi were chasing her and when her bodyguards objected to their behaviour by damaging their equipment, they filed a complaint, leading to the arrest. Oprah was shooting her new show when the entire fiasco happened. But her cast and crew are remaining tight-lipped about the entire incident and have said that it was unfortunate.
Oprah is trying to take back as much of India as she can from this visit as apart from meeting people, she is also making sure that she visits the places of importance such as the Taj Mahal and the Jaipur Literary Fest apart from having mouthful of Indian spicy delicacies with champagne. Not only that, she is also enriching her wardrobe with some very rich embroidered saris by designers from talented Indian designer Sabyasachi. Making another visit would be her choice but the Indians are doing more than enough to make her forget one ‘unfortunate’ incident.
