giving the award to samdra Bu;;lock proves that this is a popularity contest. From the year that Morgan Freeman got slighted for his magnificent performance in "Driving Miss Daisy" through not even nominating the lead in "Wilde" to passing over Marion Houlardf for her performance as Edith Piaf the membersof the academy have given further proof that living, understated acting is something they neither appreciate nor understand. What can you expect from a group that years ago gave a "best picture" award to the trite The Greatest Show on Earth" Hollywood seems to have little appreciation of quiet performances and movies that tell a story without over the top special effects. No wonder I watch this event strictly to see what everyone is wearing.
