OUR COUNTRY is really different from rest of the world in many respects. She has different races with different cultures, Aryans in the north, Dravidians in the south, Mongoloids in the northeast blended in a very nice fashion. We have a rich heritage behind us that is a rich source of knowledge.
What our ancestors have passed on to us in the form of Jyotish, Ayurveda , Yoga, Vaastu Shastra and our various treatises were developed after their extensive research.
Right now the functioning of different parts of our body is not known completely. It is still to be explored. Yoga can cure the ailments for which there is no remedy in a conventional way of treatment. It is so rich in knowledge about the body that it tells us by doing a particular asana it will have impact on particular internal organ or external organ. Yoga is not only physical exercise but has an impact on the heart, mind, soul and other parts of our body of which our medical science is not much aware of Like mind from where our thoughts originate, conscience from where our do’s and don’ts arise, our heart form where our emotions flow, wisdom which is our source of knowledge, intelligence etc. They are positively affected by practicing it.
Tantra mantra yantra is also of similar significance. Similar has the impact of chanting of our mantras. The rituals related to chanting of a particular mantra are described by tantra. Yantra is related to the deity one is worshipping. It is believed that by practicing of yantra mantra and tantra one can get an aura around oneself that will protect him against all evils. There are even mantras to protect a particular body part or cure some disease. We have so many mantras to be chanted at various occasions and for different problems and creating a harmonious atmosphere. There are mantras that guide people regarding their conduct, duties and responsibilities also.
Jyotish deals with its nine planets affecting the life on this planet. It can predict one’s life completely by nine planets positioned in 12 different houses There are other streams of it also like prashna kundli, lal kitab, mundane astrology, etc. Prashna kundli in being made for the answer of a particular question. Lal kitab is a way different from the prevalent form of astrology is that it has got very simple and easy remedies for different type of problems and its grammar is different from Indian astrology. Mundane astrology dealing with issues related to masses. Those who know it well predict the course of events accurately.
Vaastu shastra is also a part of our heritage. Our ancient saints believe that all the things on this universe is made of five elements i.e. Prithvi (earth), Jal (water), Agni (fire), Vayu (air) and Aakash (space). Vaastu tells us about the balance of different elements in a building to make maximum use of the positive energies associated with them. In other words by the knowledge of vaastu shastra one is able to strike a wonderful balance of the five elements leading to comfort, harmony, health, wealth for it’s inhabitants. It has many branches like grih-vastu, nagar-vastu, prasad-vastu, devalaya-vastu etc.
Ayurveda is an ancient science of holistic healing. It is based on the belief that diseases occur in our body because of imbalance of the three elements present in it namely vaat (wind/spirit/air_kuph (phlegm) and pitta (bile). It is believed that building a healthy metabolic system, attaining good digestion, and proper excretion leads to vitality. It has two treatise namely Charak. Sanhita and Shrushut Sanhita
These all are quite complicated and not so easy to understand. It involves the consideration of so many factors. Now most of us are not able to understand it completely so it’s better to use them as guidance. As with the passage of the time we may understand these sciences well and shall be able to apply it completely. These sciences that our country possesses do not equal to any part of the world and all these date back to Vedic age.
