Our biggest blunder
There are mistakes done in a family by the elders for which future generations suffer, while those to blame snore away peacefully in their graves, oblivious to the fact that history does not forget them. Indian governments are the same.

WHAT HAS happened with our nation’s strategic ally “Nepal”? Gentlemen, we should make our future generations proud of us for having lost an important strategic ally like Nepal to China with others like Sri Lanka and Myanmar to follow suite, due to our government’s apathy, lack of interest, lack of far sight or simply to put it in the right way ’Mass Blunder’.

I fail to understand with the Maoists forming the government with China’s support in Nepal, why will they ever recognise us as an ally? We still do not have our position clear on this issue and are still continuing the mistake by spoon feeding and strengthening a vicious snake which again would bite us in the near future. These Maoists will form the government In New Delhi under China’s support in the near future if we do not act now and that too with speed. We should strengthen our economy and military and become self reliant to cater to the needs of our neighbours, hence keeping them under control and happy with us.

Why have we not adopted the Sikkim’s formula by calling upon the Raja to become the lifelong governor with a hefty purse and seceding the throne to our democratic setup. We could also have strengthened the Army of Nepal under the Congress or the Monarchy to have defeated the Maoists.

We have the strength and the capacity to have indirectly created a stooge governing setup, which would have been allied with our national interests for our future needs. This is where we have failed and China has won. We have still not woken up from our deep slumber that our main strength had been Nepal’s dependence upon us for their near to every thing that is needed to survive, right from food to electricity but this has changed now as China can supply every ting from crude to military from Tibet due to their fantastic infrastructure development like railways, pipelines etc. China is setting up a railway connection right till Kathmandu hence connecting Beijing directly with Kathmandu.

Our country can only take a back seat from now on as China will take the drivers seat. This goes for Myanmar and Sri Lanka also.

In Myanmar, we are still afraid of setting up our will by either bringing Su ki to power or creating a pro India junta. We recently have taken a beating from China in competing to develop power and crude related projects in the country. We also have lost a chance to build military basis in the country, a place where China has succeeded hence slowly paving the way for China to completely make a stooge out of Myanmar.

Sri Lanka is also on the list of China and Pakistan. This small island nation too would be lost to the fathomless depths of our government’s neglect and apathy. Only thing that would be left in our hands would be Jaffna as friend and rest of Sri Lanka as an enemy. The nation would suffer as they would start sourcing their needs from other countries like America, China, Pakistan, Norway, Israel etc, if we do not strengthen our channels of support both economic and military. We should also take a lesson from the interests garnered by these far flung nations in this small nation as an important strategic ally.

I fail to understand why our government is creating enemies of our nation instead of strong buffered and buttered allies. Won’t they keep on harming us in the near future like Pakistan? How can we become an economic giant or a powerful nation when we cannot even handle our neighbours, when our forefathers have ruled all above? Why cannot we repeat ancient history where we were the center of the world?

This man is basing all his points on myth and Panikkar fantasy . First of all there was no country called India. It's a creation of the British. Your forefathers never ruled anybody. Taoday , you are trying to spread brown imperialism with a tottering RAW. Go to hell! That cok won't fight.

Dear Nepali,I consider all Nepalis to be my Brothers & Sisters. I am only concerned about your welfare as Chinese backed communism in the long run will effect you more or less in the same way as Tibetians & turn you all against us as enemies. We would have liked your nation & ours to unite on equal democratic terms keeping in mind so many common factors. Our kings have ruled South East Asia for centuries but without differentiating between people, cultures & sects. All were happy under our peaceful Flag. Think about it?
