Our patience is not unlimited, claims US
Sensing Iran will take forever to agree to the terms of the deal and clubbed with lack of positive response from Iran, the US claims their patience is not unlimited. US said, the possibility of a sanction couldn't be ruled.
THE US seems to be clinging hard on to their patience as they eagerly and patiently wait for Iran to finally make up their mind and seal the United Nations-Nuclear Fuel Deal involving Iran, US, France and Russia for once and for all. Iran has, for a long time, kept US, France and Russia on their toes.

In fact, Iran has been keeping them hanging in the middle as it keeps delaying to announce its stance on the UN nuclear deal. According to the deal, Iran has to export 12,000 Kg of its low level enriched Uranium to Russia for further enrichment .The enriched fuel will be sent back to Iran in the form of fuel rods for utilization in Tehran Nuclear Research reactor for medical and industrial purposes.

The United States on Monday, said the possibility of a sanction couldn’t be ruled out incase Iran fails to oblige to the deal. Sensing Iran will take forever to agree to the terms of the deal and clubbed with lack of positive response from Iran, the US claims their patience is not unlimited.

On October 21, a conference on the United Nations Nuclear Deal was held at Vienna, after the first meeting at Geneva, attended by representatives from all the participating countries. However, Iran was reluctant to transfer its nuclear stockpile out of the country. At the end of the meeting, a final outcome couldn’t come through and both sides agree to continue with the talks. Iran said they would let their stance be known in a week’s time. But, Iran responded saying they want some changes within the framework of the UN drafted deal that the US refuses to alter.

Iran’s concern is the issue of trust. Reports are pouring in that Iran wants International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to take charge of its uranium that should be kept on Iran’s Kish Island in the Persian Gulf. However, El Baradei, Director IAEA, told CNN that Iran is looking at transporting some of its uranium stockpile and at the same time importing more enriched material.

The US proposed the UN brokered nuclear deal after Iran sought the help of IAEA for nuclear fuel. Iran is rapidly running short of enriched nuclear fuel for use in nuclear research reactor that produces isotopes for treating cancer. Seizing Iran’s situation as an opportunity to put a check on its alleged nuclear activities for producing nuclear warheads, the Obama administration puts forth the deal to Iran in the hope to reduce the concern of the West regarding Iran’s nuclear ambitions that poses a great threat to the West. But, Iran continues to deny the allegation that Iran is secretly indulging in nuclear activities in their attempt to procure nuclear warheads.

The US believes that this deal would be a test of Iran’s nuclear intentions. If the deal pulls through, after shipping a part of its uranium to Russia, Iran’s stockpile will be reduced by 75 per cent that is not enough for Iran to develop a single nuclear warhead (anytime soon). This will stall Iran’s activities to equip itself with nuclear weapons (if any) for at least a year.

Since it is extremely important on the part of the proposing nation to see to it that Iran agrees to the proposal, pressure mounts on the US to continue with the talks and agree to give Iran the much needed time to make up their mind.
