As soon as the matter came forward the outlet was raided and closed down. Sunil, the customer said, “I had visited the outlet with my family and as soon as I started eating I noticed live worms in the chicken and I contacted the food safety people.” After the raid the food safety officer sent the chicken from the outlet for further investigation and it has been learnt that 5-month-old chicken was stored in the outlet.
They were all supposed to be sold off to the customer had it not been for the live worms. The outlet used to get its supply from Chennai, as was reported by nnis. While nothing more is known on the matter, this has made other KFC lovers, especially those who love fresh food wary of visiting the outlet. This will not affect the sale of KFC chickens all over the country but people should be cautious while having their food and management needs to take serious action against the erring officials.
