Oxford Green Public School, Noida wins Under-13 cricket tournament
The Naitik under 13 cricket tournament, was won by Oxford Green Public School on Sunday at YMCA grounds. Oxford Green school played the finals with Cricket Academy, and defeated them. Oxford team won the toss and decided to field. Cricket Academy got the chance to bat first and scored 101 runs in 25 overs by loosing 10 wickets.

From Cricket Academy team, the best scorer batsmen was Prince Chandela, who scored 36 runs. On the other side, Sourav Bhati led Oxford teams best batsmen was Rithik Bishete, who scored 30 runs. Vikrant Bhati has grabbed three wickets. The Oxford Green Public School won the match in 19.5 overs.

The man of the match was Rithik Bishete, the Bowler of the tournament was Vishal Bhati from Cricket Academy and best batsmen of the tournament was given to Sanjeet Singh again from Oxfard Green.

The Captain of the team, Sourav Bhati, studying in class VII, was on the cloud 9 with his achievement, “This is the first time our team has participated in a tournament and we won it. We are thankful to the coach, our principal madam and the management of the school for all their support."

The first Naitik Sports Cup, under 13, was conducted at YMCA grounds. Total of eight teams have participated in the tournament and were divided into two pools, with four teams in each pool. Every team played three matches with the opponent and at the end Bright Cricket Academy and Oxford green played in the finale.

The teams which participated in the tournament were Ryan International School Greater Noida, Bright Cricket Academy, Chetana Public School Noida, MM Public School Delhi, Dikshat Foundation Greater Noida, Oxford Green Public School Greater Noida, and NTPC Radri.

Gaurav Bhati, the cricket coach of Oxford Green Public School was very happy, with this win. “this was the first time we had participated in such a tournament and we won. So, I am feeling very good about it,” said Bhati.

He started taking coaching from the last week of September after the school hours, thrice a week for three and a half hours. He also shared his concerns about some parents, who don't send their kids for such activities.

He said, “During the coaching, I had problems with the parents, as they feel that their kids are wasting their time. But the parents should know the fact that, the children can only perform well in their studies when they are mentally fit and relaxed, so parents should encourage their children for such activities.”

The school will felicitate the students who won the cup, tomorrow during the assembly. The principal of the school, Bula Chakraborty said, “I am proud of my students, we have started the coaching just five months back, and our students have done so well, its really appreciable.” She also thanked the coach for preparing the students so well for the tournament.
