SATURDAY, MAY 22, 2010 marks thirty years since the release of the iconic Pac-Man game. To honor the anniversary, Google has made its logo playable for the first time ever. The website has a fully-functional interactive Pac-Man game with all the graphics and sound effects which are almost identical to the original.
Now one can spend time on Google's homepage without having to drop quarters or tokens into any slot either. The version of Pac-Man on the Google homepage has 255 levels, and is available as a one-player version with Pac-Man alone, or a two-player version that features both Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man. The game begins soon as the user hits the “insert coin” button. Though the game sounds and seems like the original pac man but is believed to have been made from the scratch. However the game will be up for just forty eight hours from the time it is available.
The original game was produced by the Japanese company Namco Bandai, and licensed to Chicago-based Midway Manufacturing in the US two decades back.So all those who wish to relive the craze of playing pac man can do so on the Google homepage turned gamepage.
