Padmavati trailer out: Ranveer absolutely nails it with his Khilji overshadowing Shahid and Deepika
The trailer of the much debated and awaited period drama – 'Padmavati', starring Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh is finally out and it seems that the film is going to be a big blockbuster of this year.

The film features Deepika Padukone, who will be seen in the title role as 'Rani Padmini', Mallika-e-Chittor (queen of Chittor), alongside Shahid Kapoor, who essays the role of 'Maharawal Ratan Singh' and Ranveer Singh, who will be seen playing the negative character for the very first time in his career as he plays 'Alauddin Khilji' in the film.

The three-minute long video leaves the fans wanting for more as the love filled scenes of Rani Padmavati (Deepika) and Maharaja Ratan Singh (Shahid) have been picturised very aesthetically on the two stars which is enough to grab your attention while watching the trailer.

However, Ranveer as Alauddin Khilji is absolutely nails it easily overshadowing Shahid and Deepika. Ranveer as Khilji is strong, vicious, absolutely dark and gloomy. He is absolutely awe-inspiring in the role.

The film is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who is known for making historic period dramas and is scheduled for release on December 1, 2017.

It will be Bhansali's third project with Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone after 'Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela' (2013) and 'Bajirao Mastani' (2015). However, this is Shahid Kapoor's first project with him.
