Pak hits another Manmohan Singh "wide" to boundary!
The Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan went on the defensive that India has "already provided solid proof of possible terror attacks." He made an effort to explain that the 'proof' related to the 26/11 attacks.

PERHAPS, INDIAN Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is not the weakest Indian PM ever. But he is increasingly showing himself to be no more than a robot - remote-controlled by multiple entities. The tragedy is, these entities appear to have conflicting interests, which make Singh look awfully confused. It is particularly true in foreign affairs of India. As a result, adversaries are able to steal international sympathy at India's expense. Manmohan Singh comes out as a tactless bowler repeatedly bowling wides to batsmen who nonchalantly hit them to the boundary!

Diplomatic mandarins of India as well as of the cronies of Congress leadership had to toil hard recently when the PM signed a summit message with Pakistan Prime Minister Geelani on the dotted line: “Action on terrorism should not be linked to the composite dialogue process; these should not be bracketed.” It virtually marked a complete reversal of the belligerent posture adopted by India ever since the Mumbai terror attack in November 2008. The attack showcased the utter lack of purpose and coordination between India's numerous intelligence and security agencies and politicos.

Singh watched meekly as the hawks controlling the levers of power interpreted his “sterling peace initiative” to convey an entirely opposite meaning. They said that the talk just begun due to international pressure would not get “meaningful” enough unless Islamabad acted to tackle anti-India terrorism! A dreary statement drafted by an Indian Foreign Service babu maintained the well-known confusing note: “For the present, we have agreed that the Foreign Secretaries will meet as often as necessary and report to the two Foreign Ministers. (But) the starting point of any “meaningful dialogue” with Pakistan is a fulfillment of its commitment, in letter and spirit, to not allow its territory to be used in any manner for terrorist activities against India.”

Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor, once an aspirant for the post of UN Secretary General to boot, showed his 'capability’ to dish out lots of jargon. The diplomat implied that sticking to one's word was just foolishness indulged by King Dashrat and Bhishma of Ramayana and Mahabharata in their days! The self-styled Machiavelli elaborated that there was a vast difference between telling, commenting, statement, agreement, contract, summit declarations, treaties and there is no need to stick to one’s words!

The PM apparently wanted to exhibit his loyalty, his manipulators, realising that he does not command popular support to become even a small-town corporator on his own standing, leave alone the PM's post. Singh put the peace initiative in jeopardy once again by sounding a warning that Pakistan based terror groups were planning fresh attacks on India. He said his government had "credible information" in this regard. This was not at some empty media event but at a conference on internal security attended by State chief ministers. That made it no less than a threat to mount a war on Pakistan. After all, it is a time-tested measure by governments in New Delhi to escape accountability for disastrous performance on the economic front and law and order situation.

Not unexpectedly, Pakistan did not lose a moment to call the PM's bluff. A senior Pakistani official summoned India's Deputy High Commissioner P Kumaran and told him that as per the agreement reached between two countries, real time information about such threats must be shared. “If a Prime Minister says something like this, we can't take it lightly,” Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi told reporters and added, “If there is (genuinely any) such information with (India), share it with the government of Pakistan so that we can pre-empt such an act!”

In a statement intended for international diplomatic community’s consumption, it said: “In all sincerity, we would request India to share information they have and for our part we stand ready to cooperate fully in pre-empting any act of terror.”

The Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan Sharat Sabharwal had to go on the defensive when he asserted that India has already provided to Pakistan solid proof of possible terror attacks being staged on it from the neighbour. The IFS mandarin told the media that the terrorists who executed it belonged to Pakistan and proof of this had been provided to Islamabad. He went on: “Terrorists living on Pakistani soil are posing a serious threat to India and it is the responsibility of the Pakistani government to eliminate it.” The worthy forgot that courts in that country are not as pliable as ones in the world's greatest democracy. They do not permit to put anyone indefinitely in jail to serve politicians' interests. The “evidence” provided by blundering Indian agencies in four installments over seven months is not acceptable as “credible” to the independent judiciary there.

External Affairs Minister SM Krishna too was at the receiving end when asked about his Prime Minister's remarks about Pakistan-based terrorists plotting attacks against India. He could only say: “The Prime Minister has made his position clear,” without answering the demands from Islamabad. Krishna however ridiculed Singh's agreement to “share real-time information on terror threats.” The greenhorn foreign minister awkwardly explained,“Unless visible and credible action is taken against the perpetrators of the Mumbai attacks, it will be extremely difficult to hold any meaningful talks with Pakistan.”

.I congratulate you Natteri Adigal for your bold observations and clearly the way you have synthesized your thoughts and facts is impeccable. That we have a weak Prime Minister is an open secret. What surprises me though is the level some would go to defend such inaction, procastrination and confusion. Mr. Viren Naik would do better to critically analyse the article rather than dishing out comments that sound like personal insult.

Between Natteri and me there are no personal insults he knows for what purpose i have used this language..besides he uses same kind of language to dish out to the likes of our PM with out actually going through the background layers of different scenarios developing in Pakistan. Rest assured there are no bad feelings here as Naterri is a brilliant man within his understanding of things Chanakya Saheb. Regards and God bless Viren Naik
.Natteri., You are a brilliant kneejerk cry baby nutting about just everybody who irks your nerves. I feel sorry for those who have to put up with you in their day to day dealings with you.I read your articles quite often and see nothing but despair moaning and groaning about someone's action gone wrong according to your analysis. I want you to pause for a minute and think real politic positioning in diplomacy in other words i want you to think how cleverlt the statement was grafted. Of course India has been twin tracking with Pakistan all the time since 26/11 that is quite normal even Kautily and Lord Krishna advocated that.Pandavas and Kauravas did intermingle after dusk. The Govt machinery has to keep working and that includes keeping various channels open. What they have put with pen on paper is what is the usual proccedure regarding the meeting of the secretaries. You must have noted the Indian Govt efforts to rope in the ISI chief as well. Let me say one thing that the Pakistani Govt has to answer to home audiance as well the media and the citizens have been nurtured on hate india campaigns for last 60 years. The Army still controls everything despite the phoney democracy therefore no country in the world is going to take the puppets of the Gillani Govt. The road will only be paved with peace if The Generals of Pakistan so desire. My urge to you is not to fall for Manmohans honest action as a give away. Nothing has changed other than the fact that the world now has become fully aware that Baluchistan is on track to become second bangladesh and that certain govts of the world are deadly opposed to this eventuality just as it happene in 1971. Regards and god bless Viren Naik
