PAKISTAN HAVE bounced back strongly to beat Netherlands by 82 runs having bowled them out for just 93 in 17.3 overs. This ensures them qualifying into the super eight stages and eliminates Netherlands from the tournament.
Another exciting match between South Africa vs New Zealand was played at Lords. South Africa managed a win by just 1 run. After being set a small target, New Zealand lost their way in the middle to some consistent bowling. They took a lot of time to reach closer to that total and hence ended up losing.
New Zealand lost just 4 wickets with McCullum playing a patient 57. Taylor and Oram also got the starts but were never comfortable out in the middle to the South African spinners. Kallis, Steyn and Roelof van der Merwe ended with wickets to their name.
The Man of the Match Award was given to Roelof van der Merwe for his 2 for 14 in 4 overs and helping his side win the game. Today India will play against Ireland and Sri Lankan challenge West Indies. India, Sri Lanka and West Indies have already qualified for the super eight round.
