Hafiz Saeed is not yet charged by the Pakistan authorities in connection with Mumbai attack but it is being speculated that terrorism related charges are likely to be slapped to keep him under detention for a longer period.
PAKISTAN PRIME MINISTER Yousuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday (September 22), confirmed that Hafiz Saeed, the chief of banned Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) has been put under arrest. Saeed is accused of masterminding the entire Mumbai terror attacks and both India and United States have repeatedly demanded action against him.
Speaking to reporters in Multan, Gilani said that Pakistan was ready to cooperate with India to resolve all issues, adding that his country will not allow the terrorists to use its soil for nefarious designs.

The JuD chief has been put under house arrest since yesterday. Two complaints have been registered against him by the Faislabad police pertaining to collection of charity for a banned organisation as well as inciting people in the name of Jihad.
It is in connection with these two FIRs that police in Lahore acted tough on the JuD chief and restricted his movements in Lahore.
