PAKISTAN GOVERNMENT has ordered a judicial inquiry to probe the brutal killing of deputy speaker of Northern Areas Legislative Assembly.
Federal minister Qamar Zaman Kaira, asked the Northern Areas government to immediately set up a judicial commission and investigate the brutal murder of Syed Asad Zaidi, who was the deputy speaker of the provincial assembly.

While one person died on the spot, the deputy speaker was operated upon in the hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries. Terming the murder as a conspiracy to disturb the peace in the area, the federal minister said that government will catch hold of the perpetrators of crime and bring them to justice. He also announced a compensation of Rs 15 lakh for the family of the deceased leader. “His killers aimed to instill fear and incite confrontation through his brutal killing. The government stands by Syed Asad Zaidi's family. People should come forward and by strengthen government’s hands to show that such cowardly incidents will not deter their determination to purge the society of the extremism elements,” the minister added.
