Pakistan has got into the habit of denying anything and everything that involves terrorism. Not only India, but others countries of the world have also had a taste of Pakistan’s lies. Madeline Albright, the ex-U.S. secretary of state, has once called Pakistan ‘an international migraine’. This is proving to be more then 100% true and the whole world is suffering on its account. In almost every Islamic terrorist plot, whether it is successful or not, there is a Pakistani angle.
Many foreign and local media have exposed aspects of the terror network that has long flourished in Pakistan – Specific names, dates and addresses have been published, telecast and broadcast. But, each charge has been met with a shameless denial from every level of bureaucracy. Just as they denied the existence of their nuclear weapons programme for years, so they refuse to accept the presence of extremist terrorists in the country. Pakistan has constantly denied it has anything to do with the Taliban, Mujahideen etc just as it holds that it never sold Nukes to others on the sly. Pakistan is a country that continues to exist in a state of denial.
Even now, it is the international pressure that is forcing Pakistan to co-operate with India and Pakistan is doing everything to get out of the situation. It is indeed very shocking for all Indians to see Pakistan and other countries draw all kinds of conclusions, including denial of role of militant groups in Pakistan, even before the investigations into the Mumbai terror strikes have been concluded. In reality, the biggest threat they pose is to Pakistan itself. India has to take its own steps to safeguard its land and citizens. All talks would be futile under these circumstances. Pakistan Government will do nothing to control the terrorism, it is beyond their control.
