Pakistan's policy is: Be an adversary of India, make friends with those who hate India, encircle India to prevent it from becoming an economic power. Pakistan gets maximum support in this misadventure from the People's Republic of China. The latter is equally interested in preventing India from becoming a competing neighbour economically. China and Pakistan have joined hands to contain India and they have achieved some measure of success.
26/11 - The terror attack in Mumbai
shook not only India but the world. Initially Pakistan denied having a hand in it. When one of the terrorists caught alive confessed that he was a Pakistan citizen, our neighbour had no choice but to eat its hat and acknowledge participation of its nationals. When India produced clinching evidence of involvement of Hafiz Saeed as the mastermind of the terror in Mumbai, Pakistan refrained from taking any action. However, after the world mounted pressure on them, they have onlyput the mastermind under surveillance. That is it. This is just a trick of Pakistan to bide time until the pressure is lessened and then release the culprit saying the public pressure was for release.
The same story is being repeated day in and day out. What is the way out? India must put economic pressure on Pakistan and pressurise them to the extent that it hurts. India has so far not done anything that may hurt Pakistan. India only expects America and some European nations to put pressure on Pakistan. But that is not enough. India must act herself and not depend on the crutches provided by other nations. Pakistan will go on playing tricks unless and until her bluff is called off.
The time to take strong action against Pakistan has come. There should be no going back on this resolve. The time to act is now.
