The captain of Pakistan's national women's team Sana Mir has said that the tour of Ireland and England will them in preparing for the T-20 Cricket World Cup to be played in Sri Lanka next month.
Talking to media persons Mir said that in the first phase, the national team would tour Ireland where the Pakistan team would play a triangular series consisting of three one day and three T-20 matches. This tour would continue till August 30. The 14-member squad led by Sana Mir left for the tour of England and Ireland for three weeks left from Karachi last Friday.
“In the second phase, the national team would tour England, which starts from August 30 and would continue upto 6 September. During the tour of England we would play two T-20 each against the Under 19 team and hosting country. Moreover, T-20 matches are also scheduled against the West Indies and local clubs in England,” she further added.
She also expressed her hopes that players would show their best performance during the tour. “We are going with a high morale, and all players are mentally strong, and they are well-prepared for this tour. I hoped that with the contribution of all players we would get success during tour and, add stars to the name of our country," said Mir.
