Pampore encounter ends: 2 militants killed after 3-days of gun battle
After 3-days of tussle, the encounter between the security forces and terrorists at Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) building in Pampore ended today afternoon, leaving the two terrorists dead. While one militant was killed on Wednesday morning, other was reportedly killed on Tuesday evening by the security forces.

The clash between the forces and militants started on Monday at EDI building, when the two terrorrists entered the complex. Later, drones were used by the forces to trace the movement of the militants inside the building.

On the first day of the attack, one jawan was injured and is still recovering.

To carry out the search operation, the security forces had cordoned off the area. Traffic on the highway had also been suspended and all the escape routes of the terrorists was sealed.

Situated on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway, the EDI complex was attacked for the second time in less than a year by terrorists. In an earlier attack in February this year, three security personnel including two captains were killed in an encounter with terrorists.

Post the September 29 surgical strikes by the Indian forces in PoK, there has been a surge in infiltration attempts, ceasefire violations and militant attacks in the valley.
