Chennai based business class airline Paramount Airways is planning to add over 700 flights to its network in the next two to three months. According to the managing director of Paramount Airways, M Thiagarajan, Paramount is aiming to add 600-700 flights in next 3 month's time. Paramount Airways currently operates 1,900 flights a month.
According to the MD, the company is looking at expanding his operations to Delhi by adding around 50 flights to the city, against the present seven flights a week.
Paramount Airways, which began operations in October 2005, at present flies to 21 destinations across India. Company is planning to operate services from smaller Indian cities like Cooch Behar (West Bengal), Shillong (Meghalaya), and Ranchi (Jharkhand) and also plans to expand operations across western India but there is no proposal for services to Mumbai. M Thiagarajan said Paramount Airways will launch services from Colombo, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Bangkok when the carrier will completes the government’s mandatory requirement of an airline having been in operation for 5 years to fly abroad in October 2010.Paramount Airways operates 5 aircraft – 2 Embraer 170 planes and 3 Embraer 175 planes. It plans to add 8 more planes to its fleet by the end of the current financial year.
