Partial judgement meted out to objectionable TV shows
Present teenage generation is in itself quite aware of the cons of such programs. Such restrictions will further arouse the curiosity levels in the younger generations which will have a harming effect on them.
UNION MINISTRY for Information and Broadcast has rather assisted TV channels by giving undue publicity to their highly objectionable and vulgar programmes ‘Big Boss’ and ‘Rakhi ka Insaf’ respectively. Instead of imposing a complete ban, these channels were instructed to telecast these programmes after 11 pm in night as the vulgarity and the language projected in the show was not considered apt for a certain set of viewers.

Is it an indication that India is soon to follow certain countries to also allow telecast of ‘X’-rated films for adult-viewing at night? Or was it to assist such channels to recover cost of production of these programmes by allowing telecast after 11 pm, may be after getting some convenience-fees from the respective channels? Present teenage generation is in itself quite aware of the cons of such programs. Such restrictions will further arouse the curiosity levels in the younger generations which will have a harming effect on them, thus completely defying the cause.

Nothing can improve till money invested in such objectionable programmes by TV channels are completely wasted by imposing a complete ban rather than a publicised restricted viewing as it is being done presently.
