A young man killed a pastor in Orissa on Sunday night. Angry villagers caught hold of the alleged killer and lynched him to death on Monday. Police investigations are on regarding the case.

A YOUNG man killed a pastor of a local church in Badraxi of Sundargarh district in Odisha on Sunday night. Irate villagers also killed the alleged killer by beating him till death on Monday. The tragic incident occurred in Badraxi area of Rourkela under K. Balang police limits. A young man Manmari Topno met father Jibanmasi Munda at the church and killed him with an arrow. Locals somehow traced him on Monday. They attacked him with whatever instruments they got. Consequently, the alleged killer succumbed to death at the spot.

Police have seized both the bodies and were investigating into cases of murder. The reason of killing was yet to be ascertained, but it is suspected that previous enmity might be the reason behind killing of the pastor. Local authorities will try to keep the situation calm - given the recent history in the state of religious violence between right-wing Hindus and local chistrians.
