Patel quota agitation: Mobile internet services blocked in some parts of Gujarat
Members of Patel community in Gujarat are once again protesting for the reservation. The State police took action against a protesting group demanding release of 23-year-old Hardik Patel in Mehsana on Sunday. This called up for a bandh or shutdown in Gujarat by the protesters.

The mobile and internet services in major cities of the state like Ahmedabad, Surat, Mehsana and Rajkot have been blocked to prevent the spread of protest. However, schools and colleges are not affected by the protests and are running normally.

On Sunday 5000 protesters clashed with the police, setting two government offices on fire and attacking vehicles. In an attempt to stop the protesters, the police used batons and tear-gas and in this process around 15 people got injured.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh spoke to Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel to get the details about protest in Gujarat.

Meanwhile, the opposition Congress has demanded CM Anandiben's resignation. Congress leader Arjun Modhwadia said, "the government has failed in the state."
