Patna's College of Arts and Crafts celebrates Diamond Jubilee of its foundation
Bihar’s premier art education centre, College of Arts and Crafts turned 75 years old on January 25. The students celebrated the Diamond Jubilee of the college's foundation day with fervor. The college was founded by the great artist of Bihar, Radhamohan Prasad on January 25,1939.

During the celebrations the entire college campus was decorated with rainbow coloured beautiful lovely flowers, Mithila paintings, sculptures and other outstanding art and crafts. Main gate, boundary walls, trees, garden, exhibition halls and class rooms were decorated with various masterpieces of art and crafts.

The art exhibition and e-library were inaugurated by Prof. Arun Kumar Sinha the vice-chancellor of the Patna University.

On this occasion Amarjeet Sinha, Principal Secretary, Education Department, Govt. of Bihar  sanctioned Rs 1 crore to the college for construction of a art gallery. V-C Prof Arun Kumar Sinha assured every help to the students. He also announced the starting of PG and Ph.D courses in fine arts from this session.

“This college has many talented students. They are doing excellent creative art works. They needs better facilities for happy future. Our government should provide better job opportunities to it’s students,” said Pawan Kumar Verma, the cultural advisor of the chief minister of Bihar during the programme.

The college students showcased their talents in different mediums of the art materials. The entire college campus was filled with thousands of exhibits. On this occasion various art and musical programmes were also organised by the college authorities.

The college principal Dr C.B. Srivastava welcomed the guests. The programe was anchored by Dr Rakhi Kumari. Artists Anandi Prasad Badal, Jay Narain Singh, Laxmi Narian Nayak and Awdhesh Aman and ex-principals of the college were honored by the VC Sinha.
