Paying tribute to Kranti Kumar, an associate of Bhagat Singh
Dheeraj told this scribe that it was unfortunate that children of freedom fighters and martyrs has to do odd jobs for their livlihood. He even introduced Vinay Kumar to Deepender Hooda, M.P. son of chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
IT WAS a real tribute to late Kranti Kumar, freedom fighter and close associate of Saheed Bhgat Singh whose son Vinay Sharma used to clean utensials at a Dhaba at Panipat in Haryana for livelihood till recetly, was guest of honour at a function held at Rohtak , home district of Haryana cheif minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda,, coutsey a young poet and social worker Dheeraj. After independence he cleared the test of U.P.S.C and was appointed accountant from where he was taken on deputation to the press commission. After retiring in 1957, he worked as a journalist with BandeMatram, Parbhat and some urdu language papers. Shockingly, he was burnt alive at Panipat in Haryana where he has settled in 1966 alongwith two other Congress workers during the Punjabi Suba agitation in which Haryanvis were agitating for indpendent state and Punjabis were demanding Punjabi suba and Kranti Kumar had refused to join the agitators.

He even introduced Vinay Kumar to Deepender Hooda, M.P. son of chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, who was moved by his plight and assured that suitable steps will be taken.On persuation of Dheeraj this scribe is planning a book about sacrifices of Kranti Kumr and other forgotten heros of freedom movement . Vinay Kumar told this scribe that his father’s name was Hansraj and when one other Hansraj leaked information about Bhaghat Singh to Britishers , Bhagat Singh developed feeling of hate and he changed his father's name from Hansraj to Kranti Kumar. Born in a poor Brahmin family of Montgomry district of west Punjab, he joined the indian National Congress at call of Mahatma Gandhi in 1920 and after one year was elected delegate of Congress from the Montgamry district. He alongwith Dr. Kichlew toured Punjab for enrolment of the Congress membership and for collection of Tilak swaraj fund.In 1926 was elected a member of the executive of the Naujawan Bharat Sabha and came into contact with Sahide Azam Bhagat Singh In 1931 was arrested in Lahore conspiracy case and was awarded inmprisonment for life. But, Punjab High court acquitted him and he was released from the jail. A highly self respected person he never accepted any award or pension from the government. Real tribute to late Kranti Kumar could be given by Haryana governmnet led by Bhupinder Singh Hooda, who is son of freedom fighter late Ranbir Singh member of constituent assembly by appointing a committe to search the plight of wards of freedom fighters. Such committtee should he headed by some freedom fighter or eminent social worker and not by a bureacrate whose only concern is to dance to the tune of their political bosses. A chair could also be established in one of the universities of the state naming Krantikumar chair.
