THE PAKISTAN Cricket Board (PCB) is reportedly upset with International Cricket Council (ICC) and its Anti-Corruption and Security unit's handling of the spot fixing case which involves Salman Butt, Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Asif. PCB officials have said that if the players are proven innocent, PCB might sue ICC.
The action contemplated by PCB was confirmed by PCB's senior legal advisor Talib Rizvi said that after the interrogation and investigation process is over and eventually if the players are found innocent, the PCB will take suitable and legal actions against the ICC and other bodies which have been involved in the process of making allegations. He also confirmed that as of now, no player has been slapped with criminal case. The main investigating body, Scotland Yard too did not frame the accused under any of the British law. If found guilty, the players may have to spend 10 years behind bars, as per the British law. The PCB in London is being assisted by Rizvi's son Tafazzul Rizvi who is the board's legal advisor in London. He is closely working with the Scotland Yard in the investigation process.
Sources, who are close to the PCB and are aware of the developments in the case have revealed that even Tafazzul Rizvi has not yet been given with any concrete evidence on the basis of which the ICC had decided to suspend the three players.
