Peace is the only prerequisite for progress in an inter-dependent world: Vice President Naidu at UNESCO
Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, presently on a visit to France to attend the centenary year of end of First World War and global event at Arc d' Trionphe, will pay homage to the martyrs of World War-I along with inaugurating the Indian Armed Forces Memorial at Villers Guislain as a tribute to several thousands of Indian soldiers whose gallantry and dedication has earned worldwide recognition.

According to an official release, Naidu's visit to France assumes significance as India and France are celebrating two decades of strategic partnership this year.

In Paris, he addressed Indian Community Reception and UNESCO meeting, and urged the Indian Diaspora to connect actively with your roots and participate in India's developmental process.

Vice President Naidu in his address said that India had always been a voice for peace and non-violence from time immemorial. Further, peace is the only pre-requisite for progress and in an inter-dependent world, progress can be achieved only through dialogue and understanding.

He invited the members of Indian Diaspora to take active participation in the creation of New India and asked them to make use of the time and suitable opportunities for investment and innovation in India. It is also an important time to connect actively with your roots, added the release.
