Pennsylvania's famed Allentown museum exhibits Hindu sculptures
It includes over two dozen important sculptural works in bronze, stone and wood ranging from sixth to 20th centuries, including 'Lord Vishnu Flanked by Attendants', a 16th century sandstone sculpture from Central India.
ALLENTOWN ART Museum in Pennsylvania (USA) is currently exhibiting various Hindu sculptures under its Indian Art exhibition, which will continue till September 5.

It includes over two dozen important sculptural works in bronze, stone and wood ranging from sixth to 20th centuries, including “Lord Vishnu Flanked by Attendants”, a 16th century sandstone sculpture from Central India. Museum also reportedly has Siva, Putana, etc., statues in its collection.

Applauding Allentown Art Museum for exhibiting India focused art, Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, said that art had a long and rich tradition in Hinduism and ancient Sanskrit literature talked about religious paintings of deities on wood or cloth.

Rajan Zed, who is president of Universal Society of Hinduism, urged major art museums of the world, including Musee du Louvre and Musee d'Orsay of Paris, Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, Los Angeles Getty Center, Uffizi Gallery of Florence (Italy), Art Institute of Chicago, Tate Modern of London, Prado Museum of Madrid, National Gallery of Art in Washington DC, etc., to
frequently organize Hindu art exhibitions, thus sharing the rich Hindu art heritage with the rest of the world.

Allentown Art Museum, founded in 1934, serves over 100,000 participants annually with about 14,000 works of art. Sanford T. Beldon is the Chair of Board of Trustees, while J. Brooks Joyner is the president.
