People greeted for festivals, cultural New Years and anniversaries
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has greeted people across the nation on the various festivals and anniversaries of great people of the country.

An official release stated, "Celebrating unity in diversity, celebrating the spirit of harmony and brotherhood! Over the coming days, people across India are marking various festivals. Greetings to everyone on these occasions. May there be happiness and prosperity in everyone's lives."

"Baisakhi greetings to you all! Have a blessed Baisakhi. May this auspicious day bring good health and success in everyone's lives. We salute our hardworking farmers who feed our nation," he wished.

He added, "Wishing the vibrant Odia community a Happy New Year! "A New Year and new aspirations and new hope! This MahaVishuba Sankranti may all your wishes come true. Praying for everyone's well-being and happiness."

He further said, "Dear Tamil sisters and brothers, praying for a wonderful year ahead."Puthandu greetings to my sisters and brothers. May the coming year fulfil all your aspirations. May everyone be happy and healthy", the Prime Minister said in a series of tweets.

Modi also greeted people on Ambedkar Jayanti and paid tributes to the architect of Indian Constitution and advocate of social justice.

Another release stated that a Half Marathon was conducted in Delhi on 14 April to mark the 100th birth centenary of the legendary Marshal of the Indian Air Force (MIAF) Arjan Singh, Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC).

"The event was aimed to spread awareness about the accomplishments of the legendary MIAF, across the nation, and to inculcate the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship amongst the air warriors of the IAF," added the release.
