ELECTION 2009 HAS shown once again that the people are the one, who give the final verdict. Event three days after the results were announced, many of the political leaders are not in a state to digest the fact that they have lost. This is the state of every member, who has lost with huge difference in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

The Telugu Desam Parrty, the Telangana Rashtra Samiti, CPI and CPM had come together as ‘Maha Kutami’ (Grand Alliance) expecting to come to power. On the other hand, the Praja Rajayam was in fully confident of making history just as the politician turned actor senior NT Rama Rao did when he won absolute majority and became the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh in the very first attempt.

All the plans and confidence of the politicians received a fatal punch from the people of Andhra Pradesh. The Congress Party only depended on what they had done all the past four years. Inspite of warnings by the senior leaders, the present chief minister Dr YS Raja Shaker Reddy assured of complete responsibility of the election results.

During the election campaign, Congress focussed on reminding people on their promises and how far they were able to fulfil it. Telugu Desam on the other hand introduced the scheme of giving colour TV and bank loans. The party desperately tried to attract people using the popular movie actors, who are the family members of the party. Actors Bala Krishna, Jr NT Rama Rao - grandson of former chief minister NT Rama Rao and other members were brought into the campaign. Mega star turned politician Chiranjeevi and his family members and actors Pavan Kayian and others took part in the campaign announcing the scheme of one kg rice for Rs 2 and domestic gas cylinder for just Rs 100.

Huge crowds attended and followed every time an actor was among them. Parties made their poll calculations on basis of presence and attendance of the crowd but were not able to convince people in a right way. The Communist this time even lost in places where they have never lost for a long time. The issue is not just about loosing but the fact that majority of them have lost with huge margins.

Even the members of the Congress have lost their image among their own people because of their over confident minister Renuka Chowdary. This election verdict has truly been a people’s punch to all those leaders, who were over confident and over acting. Now everyone has set for self evaluation.

On the other hand, people this time have analysed carefully in choosing their leaders. People have given chance once again to those leaders, who have worked hard work and with dedication for the welfare of the people. They have proved once again that this is a democratic country and the people are the ones, who decide their leader. It is proved that people never let anyone down, who help improve their lives showing hard work and dedication for their service.

This is the time for everyone to know that if anyone underestimates the people and tries to fool them by any means; the people’s punch may knock them down for ever.
